Are you a Apple Mac OS X user?

We receive numerous reports from people who use StuffIt that they have issues with password, extraction, and so on, when decompressing the Rar files downloaded from our site. Due to StuffIt being a 3rd-party tool, its implementation of RAR archive format may differ in some ways when compared to that of WinRAR, which is the most widely used RAR archiving application. If you are having problems with StuffIt, then try RARLab's command-line RAR.

At www.rarlabs.com there is a Mac OS X port of their rar program. Download and decompress it. Open the terminal and drag the file named rar from the decompressed folder to the terminal window, then click the terminal window and type "r ", drag the rar file you want to repair onto the terminal window, click the terminal window and hit return. If the file has a rar recovery record then a repair will be attempted.
This method has been reported to solve those issues.

Please note that beyond supplying this information we do not and will not offer any support/guidance regarding usage of any RAR archiving/extracting application on any platform, including Microsoft Windows.
